WISP Performances brings Broadway to the Old Stone Church, starring New York City Opera’s Erich Simo as Jean Valjean.

East Haven’s landmark, The Old Stone Church, and WISP Performing Arts Initiative have teamed up to bring Broadway to town. Under the guidance of husband-and-wife team Karen Wagner Iovanna and Robert Iovanna, a new performance space will be introduced to the public. Newly renovated, Fellowship Hall offers plenty of socially distanced seating in a fun, family-like environment.

WISP’s current production, Staged Broadway Concert Selections, features songs from Tony Award-winning musicals Dear Evan Hansen, Chicago and Les Misérables. With an amazing cast made up of professional actors/singers and talented young performers, WISP is bringing three of Broadway’s greatest hits to life. Choreographer Lauren Celentano from the national tour of A Bronx Tale has stayed true to the original Fosse choreography, while adding a little spin to “Cell Block Tango.” The vocals in Les Misérables are as beautiful and intricate as seen on the Broadway stage. Starring as Jean Valjean is New York City Opera’s Erich Simo. Dear Evan Hansen boasts an incredibly talented cast of young performers. Making a special guest appearance as the voice of the “Narrator” is radio personality and iHeartRadio’s own John “Cadillac” Saville. Join us for an unbelievable evening of song and dance through the wonderful world of theatrical storytelling.
